Shri M. Komaraiah – Chairman and Managing Director
A graduate in Civil Engineering, he is the driving force of Shalivahana Group. Taking over the mantle of the group in the year 1984-85, he has been instrumental in guiding the group into diverse industry verticals like Power Generation, Engineering, Education, etc. His technical expertise coupled with business acumen has seen the group’s business increase multifold and reach a number of milestones.
Never one to sit back on laurels, he always focuses ahead searching for new avenues for the Group to venture into and kindle substantial interest in strategic partners for investment in the group.
A V Srinivasa Rao – Director
Mr. A.V. Srinivasa Rao is an Engineering Graduate from BITS- PILANI and is an Industrialist.
I Raja Babu – Director
A Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years experience in Real Estate and 7 years of experience in managing a 7.5 MW biomass based power project at Mancherial, Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh. He brings with him a wealth of expertise in his domain and a fierce resolve to make the Group a premier name.
N.K.Gupta – Independent Director
Mr. N K Gupta completed his B Sc Engineering (Electrical and Electronics) Degree from Banaras Hindu University in 1966. He joined Tata Power Company Ltd, Mumbai in 1966.
Mr. N K Gupta got the unique privilege of acquiring hands on experience in diverse engineering disciplines of Construction, Operation and Maintenance of Hydro and Thermal Power Plants in areas of Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. He worked in installations of Francis and Pelton hydro turbines, Coal/oil/gas fired thermal stations, Gas turbines, Marine Diesel Engines where major rehab jobs were undertaken.
He also worked in Transmission, Distribution, Commercial and Engineering, Project Marketing Department. For last 25 years he has functioned as Head of the Division in all the aforesaid areas.
Mr. N K Gupta also headed a multidisciplinary Management Support Team In Liberia Electricity Corporation in Liberia, West Africa for about 9 years on a project sponsored by the World Bank during the years 1979 to 1988.
Mr. Gupta was the CEO and Executive Director of Tata Power Trading Company Limited for four years and continues thereafter as Senior Advisor. He founded the Company and steered it to high growth during this period. He is also a Director on the Board of MSM Energy Ltd having Biomass plants in Chattisgarh.
Dr. Ashok Harane – Nominee Director from IL&FS Renewable Energy Limited (IREL).
Dr. Ashok Harane is the Chief Executive (Power Business) of IL&FS Group. As a Chief Executive he has been engaged in delivering diverse project advisory and project development mandates in the field of generation of power, renewable energy, energy management etc. He has wide ranging experience in the techno-financial services sector as well as in power capacity planning, operation and maintenance etc. He is well versed with legal, regulatory, technical, financial and commercial issues related to the development and bankability of the power project and provides his inputs to the project finance group especially for project appraisals, risk management framework related to setting up of power projects – hydro, coal, gas, renewable energy based. He has also launched Anticipatory Hurdles Tracking System (AHTS) to ensure smooth development of the power project. He is largely credited with having spearheaded IL&FS’ forays into power project development and advisory services.
In his role as the Chief Executive at IL&FS, ha has established strong contacts and working relationships with Central and State Government Officials, ERCs, Public FIs, large corporate etc. He has always given a thrust on adoption of the Best Available System and Technology (BAST). He keeps abreast of developments in the international power project market, supercritical technology, future energy distributed generation etc. He is at present engaged in technology scanning of solar energy based grid connected power projects, pet coke based green energy projects etc. Also, Dr. Ashok Harane occasionally lectures management graduates at business schools as a guest faculty.
Dr. Ashok Harane is a seasoned professional with over 42 years of experience in power sector and is currently heading various initiatives of IEDCL in generation and renewable energy projects. Prior to joining IL&FS, he has served Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) for over 28 years and worked on a number of positions at MSEB’s thermal power stations. Dr. Ashok Harane is currently on the Board of Maha DISCOM as an Independent Director and also as a Director in some public limited companies.
Mr. Anuj Kumar – Nominee Director from Axis Infrastructure Fund 1.
Mr. Anuj Kumar has about 19 years of private equity, investment banking and operating experience, through which he has acquired considerable expertise in making investment decisions, raising capital resources, strategic business development and financial management.
Mr. Anuj Kumar is currently a Partner with Axis Private Equity, a US$150 million fund, where he leads investments in infrastructure-related companies. Prior to this, Mr. Anuj was with Sabre Capital, where he led infrastructure investments aggregating US$63 million for the Sabre Abraaj Private Equity fund and was responsible for the recapitalization, inorganic growth and strategic investments of Centurion Bank as part of Sabre Capital’s core team for the US$53 million investment. During a period of four years while Sabre Capital was invested in Centurion Bank, the bank grew its balance sheet size 10x through a combination of organic and inorganic growth initiatives. Earlier, he set up and headed Merrill Lynch's business for principal investments in distressed assets in India.
Mr. Anuj has advised on a variety of private equity, strategic sale and capital markets transactions as part of the investment banking teams of DSP Merrill Lynch, Mumbai and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, Mumbai and Singapore, and led the financial institutions group for DSP Merrill Lynch. He led strategic business development in India and South Asia for Monsanto Company, a global leader in food, agriculture and life sciences.
Mr. Anuj serves as a Director on the Board of Corrtech International and has served as an Alternate Director / Invitee on the Boards of Centurion Bank of Punjab, Ramky Infrastructure, ECI Engineering & Construction and on certain of their committees. He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and is a Chartered Accountant.
Mr.Parashiva Murthy – Nominee Director from IDBI Bank Limited (IDBI).
Mr. Murthy is a Mechanical Engineer and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India (AICWA) and has also completed CAIIB. To add to his achievements, he is a University 4th Rank holder and a topper in Engineering College. He has over 7 year of industrial experience having worked in various companies including Multi National Companies and 15 years of experience in banking industry. Earlier, he was on the Board of M/s. Shree Renuka Sugars Limited.

Narasimha Ramulu Pantam – Independent DirectorMr. Narasimharamulu Pantam is a former Director (Finance) of NTPC Limited, the largest power utility in India. He superannuated in mid 2005 after attaining the age of 60 years. He was also a part time Director on the Boards of NTPC Electric Supply Company Limited, NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited, NTPC Hydro Limited, all subsidiaries of NTPC and was also on the Boards of Utility Power Tech Limited, NTPC Alsthom Power Services (P) Limited and NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Company Limited, all joint ventures of NTPC. He is now serving as an Independent Director on the Boards of various other companies.
Mr. Pantam is a consultant for various Public Sector Undertakings such as Power Finance Corporation Limited, New Delhi, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Gurgaon, Oil India Limited, Noida in the matters relating to their IPO’s and a few undertakings in State Sector like Jharkhand State Electricity Board, Ranchi in the matters of Systems, Finance and Accounts. Mr. Pantam is also on the Expert Committee of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited, Faridabad as a member.
A Post Graduate in Commerce, a Chartered Accountant, a Law Graduate, a Fellow member of the Indian Council of Arbitration. Mr. Pantam is in financial management for more than 3 decades. He was also a member of Institute of Internal Auditors, New Delhi Chapter and a member of International Centre for Alternate Dispute Resolution, New Delhi.
Mr. Narasimharamulu Pantam started his career in 1970. Prior to joining NTPC, he was initially in practice followed by diverse experience in Light Engineering and Agro Industry. He worked with Indo Nippon Precision Bearings Limited, Hyderabad, where he was instrumental in its financial turnaround. He has also served in AP State Agro Industries Corporation Ltd, Hyderabad where he was given award for his outstanding performance in Internal Audit Work.
Mr. Narasimharamulu Pantam was awarded “India CFO Awards – 2004” for “Excellence in Finance in Public Sector Undertaking” in recognition of his exemplary contribution in the field of Finance and has also been awarded the “Top Rankers Award” by the Birla Institute of Management and Technology in the year 2001 for excellence in Finance.
